Below are answers to frequently asked questions regarding the Best Bets list and Kentucky’s Proof publication.
All companies that submit an application are considered active in the Best Bets list and publication process. If your company wishes to withdraw, please contact Janet Saccoccio.
Through the application process, Dean Dorton will be collecting, analyzing and evaluating company data and other sensitive information. Dean Dorton is committed to upholding the highest levels of confidentiality with regard to participation and collected information.
At no time will individual or company specific information and data gathered through the Best Bets application be released to any third party, for any reason, without the advance written permission of the company. Data collected from the group as a whole, through the application process will be used in group benchmarking reports and for trending purposes.
For the sole purposes of publishing the Best Bets list and special sections, Dean Dorton will utilize employer information to assist with the development of the special publication Kentucky’s Proof, website and/or recognition. The information released will be limited to the data gathered through the application. Any such information used in a public forum will be positive in nature and will only reflect positively on the company.
Information regarding the participation of a company in current or prior years will not be released unless the company has made the list and that distinction has been made public.

Those chosen as a “Best Bets” will be contacted by March 16. The list of 2017 Best Bets will be published by The Lane Report in March 2018 and the editorial publication, Kentucky’s Proof, will be published and mailed in April 2018.
No. There is no cost for a company to be considered and awarded this honor or to be featured in the editorial feature Kentucky Proof.
The Best Bets list and Kentucky Proof publication will feature the following information:
- Company name
- Company location (City/Region only; no full address)
- Year the company was founded
- CEO name
- May contain revenue, capital investment, and employee headcount RANGES
No specific revenue, capital investment, or employee headcount numbers will be published as that information will be kept confidential as is only used to verify certain criteria.
Certified Public Accountants at Dean Dorton will see your application information and verify application criteria. Kentucky’s Proof editorial content will be written by team members of Dean Dorton and Bim Group. Contact information will be shared with The Lane Report in order to make sure you receive the publication, Kentucky’s Proof. None of your application information will be shared with any others or third-parties.

Yes, you are eligible to participate as long as you have employees working in Kentucky and are able to provide an in-state mailing address for your business.
Please submit one (1) application under the parent company’s name. The other information you provide within the application should be answered in regards to your location(s) in Kentucky.
As soon as you click “Submit,” you will receive a confirmation email letting you know we received your application. If we need additional information, we will contact you. If you are selected for this year’s Best Bets list, you will be notified by March 16. Otherwise, look for Kentucky Proof to hit your mailbox mid-April.
